Got to the gym this morning and began to wonder if @Mel dCP was in my area as there was a community first responder ambulance van outside! No sign of purple hair (or sick people) so probably not...

Been running low this week. Which is actually nice as I had been seeing teens a fair bit lately. Fingers crossed for an in range weekend.
 
Afternoon all. Spent yesterday at Joint School so I feel all set to go, except for the waiting lists.
Karen, I’ve just caught up with the sad neighbour event, and so cheered that she looked peaceful. How good that there was someone like you to do some shopping for her, you will have made her last days happier.

This really can’t be a good day for anybody wanting to work outdoors down here in the SE so pleasant time ahead with a fire, a book and cat. The garden weeding and trimming can wait! But I’m still blowing on my lentils when I get up every morning. Can’t have them getting too leggy.

Just had an idea, do you think the surgeon would install a small gyroscope alongside the new joint - for those odd times when low bs affects balance?

Wow, how come so few have heard of him? Of the three, I think I prefer caffeine to coal tar (remember the smell of the soap?) and belladonna, despite its pretty flower.

I think that was a case of my utterly splendid GP making the most of the fact I was in the room for the first time in a year...
  • one flu jab,
  • one annual foot check,
  • one discussion about blood pressure - 24 hour machine coming my way in the near future,
  • cholesterol check ordered because the hospital didn't do one
  • one annual foot check because the hospital didn't... "You do look after your feet well!" was the verdict.
  • one medication review "Well, this lot's not changing, is it?" said GP as it was all authorised for another year, with one minor change, based on some Japes type logic about getting what she really wanted, (TEE2 strips for my original self-funded, but now spare meter) and saving the NHS money in the process (surgery had given me a Caresens meter originally, but when I'd asked two years ago about TEE2 strips as they're cheaper than the Caresens, I was told they'd not been approved but I carried on getting the strips for the Caresens meter as well as the hospital issued one as they're even more expensive! GP gets my logic of having a spare meter and likes how I use it!)
We did get to the original purpose of the appointment before I left which was not actually diabetes-related... but it was foot related, so I think that's how the distraction happened!

Lol, @Japes , when I was reading down that list, I was really hoping it would end with, "...and a partridge in a pear tree..."

Which is making me think now of poached partridge in a pear puree with peppered petit pois as something I'm going to have to find for lunch in the near future.
 
Evening holes, am I last on parade?

Can’t remember who to tag for what, so here goes.

I use an acetone based nail varnish remover to get the sticky stuff from my pods and Libre/MiaoMiao off my skin, followed by a smear of bepanthen nappy cream. Works really well.

About to embark on a pint of wine following a horrendous day - beat my record of four detentions in a day though. Today I gave out six, and two of my class got excluded. One for slamming another lad’s head into the desk and another for calling me an “f******* c***” right in my face. Can’t imagine why the place is in special measures... was quite chuffed that none of these incidents had even the slightest effect on my BG. Not even the hint of an adrenaline spike.

But amusingly we had a list of kids starting next September come in while I was there. There is a young girl arriving named...

I was tempted to end it that way!

It's just so nice to have a GP who reckons we're working on this together, who is thorough about checking everything, and who likes my approach to it all as well. He did remind me I really wasn't over-burdening the NHS with my medical needs when I was asking about swapping my strips for the cheaper ones. (I did say it was because I liked the TEE2 meter better as well as the cost factor!)
 
Just wait until Cupcake is excluded for taking physical action over being teased about her name.
 
Ach, @Mel dCP , ya gotta look on the bright side: you're carefully nurturing and tending the next generation of The Jeremy Kyle Show participants.

If you've still got some Novopens kicking around from yr pre-pod days, I'd be tempted to take them in next time, say, now, kids, we're doing chemistry today, each of you try 20u, the first one who ends up unconscious gets to skip double-maths next week...
