Morning fellow teabags/colanders

So after all of my recent highs especially in morning, decided to give the pump a wee tweek and increase by Basal slightly. Oh what a surprise NOT. My BG are now actually higher. Went from a BG of 7.9 before brekkie to a mid morning BG 14.2. Small correction Bolus and just after lunch now sitting at a lovely BG 6.2

Will give this a few days to see if any pattern develops.

And breathe..........

@smc4761 the pump is giving you the run around at the moment! Stick with it thou, you will be amazed when it is all dialled in for you. It is going to take a while. And as you know as soon as you get it dialled in.....T1D will give you the runaround again

Beat me to it. I was just scrolling back to check on Smcs posts. I started on 1u 10g at breakfast and am now on 1u 7g which is correct 90% of the time

Thanks Helen x

Today's good news reminded me I'm glad I applied as soon as I could - 2.5 months after applying, DVLA have said in 2 weeks I'll get a shiny 3 year licence

note to self - knock even more insulin off! think I'll drop my basal tonight ready for tomorrow and my am basal too, 2 packets of fruit pastilles demolished - oh and another note to self, top up my tube of glucotabs as well. The joys of being T1D..........

I renewed mine recently, did it onliine on a Monday, new license in post and received on the Friday.

Hi both I have always been high in morning. When I went to pump clinic my Basal was reduced by around 30%. To be fair after lunch through to bedtime isually OK.

They also changed my carb ratio from my usual 1:4 to 1:8 for brekkie and from 1:5 to 1: 8 for lunch and dinner. The 1:8 for lunch and dinner seems to be doing OK. I had adjusted my brekkie one to 1:7 last week but most of time it is not working. Annoying though I do seem to get a day or 2 when it does work

To make things even more confusing after brekkie about 7 am I will rise to about 12 before dropping back to 7 again at lunchtime.

Will run another few days with my slight increase in Basal and see how it goes followed by an increase in Bolus to maybe 1:6 and maybe even 1:5.

I know it going to be trial and error and I am lucky to have Libre which means I am easily testing up to 20 times a day

As always thanks for your support

They're not bothering to contact your doctor are they...

Mine went to my GP (despite me telling them the GP wouldn't know), GP said "I have no idea", so they then asked me for consultant details, it went to them and they're a bit slow. Each step adds at least a couple of weeks...

I'd assume they didn't contact my consultant, but I had nothing in the tick boxes to suggest they should, I doubt they follow up every application. Likewise my GP would probably turn around and say 'Slip' who?

Oh well, we had a couple of new starters over the last couple of weeks on the team, so it was a "Welcome Lunch" at Thai up the road.
Chicken Yellow Curry was vvvvvveeeerrrryyyyyy nice, but made me want to go asleep in the meeting that we had to come back for ~sigh~

Which means that sugars have been interesting because I had no idea bout carbs and was running a sub 4 when we ate. So its been watch the Etch A Sketch and topping up basically to keep it lower then 10.

Bit of a pain but yes I would most certainly eat that meal again

As for the avatar I was going to go with Pin Head from Hell Raiser but decided that some of the more "delicate souls" might get upset and then decided that Harlock was way cooler

Good evening everyone.
It appears we’ve all made it through another day and a Tuesday at that.
Anyone else find Tuesday to be the worst day of the week? It always feels neither here nor there within the week.
Flying hands on at the moment ( no CGM ) which I like doing as it keeps more in touch with how diabetes feels. Not sure that makes any sense .
I’ve been cruising at a slightly higher altitude than I wanted. On the 4 finger pricks I’ve done today they’ve all been around the 10 mark. Not the end of the world but strange as I’ve done nothing different from the days I’m on CGM and cruise around the 7 mark. Odds on I’ll be going hypo all day tomorrow..
Enjoy the rest of the evening. It’s Wednesday tomorrow and the weekend is on the horizon.

@Knikki . So glad you went with Harlock. Looks a nice , friendly, welcoming sort of a chap.
Kei Yuki seems to have a certain appeal. Can’t believe I’ve just googled Harlock

@therower Sorry Tuesdays are one of my favourite days. We have our 22 month old grandson. Have played trains, chase, bikes and diggers. Been for a walk and seen buses, motorbikes, dogs and horses. Read stories, cuddled and sang to him to get him to sleep. Am absolutely jiggered, but feel blessed.

The results from The Machine are in!

Drum roll, if you please..... I have the blood pressure of someone 40 years younger - which puts me in my early teens. White Coat Syndrome noted, a note to ask if I've walked up the hill to the surgery for future occasions and print out of the day's readings for the hospital appointment for later in the year!

I was prepared for more of a fight about statins, but once we'd examined the ratios, concluded the family history was on the better side of 55, it was left up to me. So, I've said "no" for now, but will consider it again if it goes over a number we've agreed on.

I've walked home with a massive grin on my face. My week of wins is definitely continuing.

@becca59 . Sounds absolutely brilliant.
We’ve done the and continue to do the grandkids.
Both at school nowadays but still come around every Thursday after school for tea and treats. We were very lucky, up until last August we had 7 yrs of looking after either 1 or 2 of them three days a week. Throw into that weekend sleepovers and holidays and it is a true blessing to be grandparents.
Glad you’ve had such a lovely day.
