Morning everyone, looks like the start of another glorious day.
Going to have a go at bastardising some scones (as in ones) and make them hot cross bun flavour................. then
do something in the garden, not much mind as I fell hard in Portugal and may have cracked something.
Enjoy the sun

Good morning campers.
Off out for Brekkie in Burton on Trent very soon.
Shorts and T- shirt weather.
So glad your enjoying the libre @Robinredbreast . Save some of those Easter eggs from today’s promo for your next libre appointment, there’s nothing wrong with a bit if bribery.
@Knikki , why oh why can’t you just have a tea or a coffee first thing in the morning like most normal folk. I’m seeing less Captain Scarlet and more Christopher Lee.( aka Dracula )

Just back from Sainsbury's (theoretically just salady stuff) but they had some Ben & Jerry's Vegan(!) Chocolate Brownie Ice-cream. Oh wow! I feel a dessert coming on tonight.

Also got some curry flavoured tempeh - pre-cooked - so will go beautifully with a salad lunch, provided I add something spicy to the coleslaw to go with.

And finally, succumbed to a magazine with lots of totally yummy recipes. Am seriously thinking that I might suggest to my friend at work that we have a MacMillans coffee morning bake at the office, and she can bake "normal" cakes and I'll do the vegan ones.

But Ben & Jerry's!! OMG *insert drooling emoji here*

However, my DSN explicitly told me the local CCG only prescribe them if you prick more than 8 times a day as it is “all about saving money”.

I think a lot of people are deliberately ramping up their testing to above 8 for a few months to get it on script. But the RMOC guidelines say above 8 if clinically indicated so I reckon some ccgs will still say the patient is "gaming" the system as they clinically didn't need to test that often. Will be interesting to see how this works out.

Both ABCD, the Association of British Clinical Diabetologists, and SHTG, the Scottish Health Technology Group, have published papers suggesting that, while long term savings in complications will take a while to show up, there's evidence that there's been short term savings from fewer ambulance callouts and admissions for DKA and severe hypos.

I reckon it's only a matter of time before the bean counters do a massive face-palm and say why didn't we do this earlier.

Morning bunnies, I’m still reeling from the news - and thank you for your lovely messages Next job is to apply for the NHS bursary to find it.

Bloods running well, despite the excitement, and that never gets old

Just off out to brunch, and then to get some goat butter to go on my low carb hot crossless (atheist!) bun for later. Might paint a wall.

RRB, I do hope the Libre comes through for you, I’m keeping everything crossed!

Hey well done young lady on your fab news

@Robinredbreast @Scott-C @helensaramay re the Libre.
Having followed Partha Kars determined journey with the Libre and postcode lottery I am aware of all the ins and outs. What I was confused about is why Robinredbreast you have been given one to try but not keep. Also the fact is if you do fit one of the laid down criteria they are not allowed to plead poverty. Having said all that it does appear some CCGs are allowing 8 times usage without clinical need, as long as you can prove on your monitor that you are testing 8 times a day. There are people on the Facebook page who have managed this. I agree that I am happy with my free medication, and access to insulin is far more important. However, it still irks that because I self fund and work my socks off to keep fit and healthy, that free access is so far denied to me. Though, like Scott I am pretty sure it will become a no brainer in the end.

Hey - my son popped round. He and his partner got me some vegan choccy eggs! So Very kind. I sent him back home with eggs for them, and good wishes because the poor girl has sprained her ankle. My son and his musical partner have their first gig of the season tonight and she's gutted she's missing it. Maybe she'll be able to go to tomorrow night's, with luck.

But I haz eggs!

Good afternoon diafriends. Feeling a bit laid back today after a longer walk yesterday, and, frankly, getting a teeny bit worn down by the pain Hamish causes - by all accounts another four and a bit weeks of it to come. Ah well, mustn’t grumble, worse things at sea, mustn’t forget the pain and challenged mobility before the birth of Hamish.
Cheering sunshine, plants blooming, birds shouting: lots of good stuff.

Morning all! Happy Easter!

Nearly there.... 4 hours to go, then a whole week with no Main Paid Work, no Organist work, and no music teaching. I put yesterday's almost continuous double figures down to transferred Sunday Morning effect, along with a bit of a lack of walking which wasn't off-set by the Big Clean of the bedroom and bathroom. Normally cavorting around up and down step-ladders, moving all the books off the bookshelves, everything out of the cupboards, chests of drawers, under the bed drawers, all the furniture shifted, (so I can clean inside, outside, behind, on top, underneath,) then hoovering carpets and curtains, hoovering and washing walls, then finally putting back everything I'm keeping whilst getting rid of stuff I don't want/need/use anymore more than off-sets any lack of walking. I should point out I walked a mile's worth of steps in this process, though.

Either that or the Asda's own cheese and tomato veggie burgers which were my lunch are more carby than the labelling suggests.

Still, the annual unaccompanied solo singing moment (well, about 7 minutes worth) went off well despite the huskiness of the voice and the fact I was more tenor than alto so I sounded a bit odd, to my ears.

Good morning friends and wishing you all a peaceful and relaxing Easter Sunday.
I am going to Bournemouth today and really looking forward to the seaside. I like exploring and walking and looking around, I'm taking Lucia Libre to the seaside as well, so lots of BG testing and lots of sunscreen too, plus wearing a strappy dress I bought last year, but didn't get around to wear.
Have a lovely day and a safe one too x

Don't forget Frankenstein..............

I don't think any chocolate will be on the menu today, but hoping for an ice cream at the seaside. I will take my own little tub and spoon, I am off to Bournemouth today yay So I better get ready and hop to it

Wishing you a lovely day
