Morning all

OK Captain Stoopid has just entered.

Basel - Is this the long acting stuff?
Bolus - I see this used alot, does it simpley refer to the fast acting stuff you stick in you before a meal?

No such thing a a stoopid question.......can get stoopid answers thou
The only way i got to remember was Bolus sounds like "bowl" and I eat my breakfast from a bowl and have to do my fast acting insulin then so BOWL = BOLUS
WINNER lol

@Knikki - It is not something I do often but it was needed as I recently changed both my bolus and basal insulins.

I woke up hypo (libre tells me I had been low for most of the night).

Thats a result of unplanned eating yesterday followed by a panicked correction before bedtime.

Coasting in the 5’s now.

@CranberryIce Interesting, I had spag bol and garlic bread last night and actually carb counted, and stuck the lowest amount of NovaRapid in I have ever done for that meal. Night time all was level an normal so did nothing.

Just looked at the graph on my Etch A Sketch and it seems I was in hypo land (explains the unicorns) for part of the night. Need to keep an eye on things and maybe drop/change what I inject of a night.

Whereabouts in Oz are you
My niece and family moved from UK to Oz 7 years ago they live in Adelaide

Morning all! Got hit with some dawn phenomenon at 7 this morning, so aggressively corrected (3u IM) and am at a 4.7 now, so I’m happy with that. Let’s see what the imminent smoked salmon and scrambled eggs does!

Hope you all have a lovely Friday, may all your hypos be gentle and easily raised; may all your hypers be brought down quickly to the right place

I'm thinking of writing a short book "Dr Kev & his PORRIDGE solution" as last night I sieved my porridge oats in a colander with 5mm holes and was surprised how much I lost, I then rinsed the oats 5 times and soaked them overnight, before rinsing, refilling and cooking for breakfast and haven't spiked and in fact am dropping so will need my eggs and wholemeal bread that I don't get if I spike.

Scrambled Egg yum yum

Sounds like you washed all the food out of it!

Wasn’t me, but I only go to little gigs mostly. Amusingly I had the bare essentials (scanner, Novorapid pen, dextrose tabs, money, phone and lipstick) in a little pouch on my belt at the last one I went to; husband had all his pockets searched and I just got waved through without a glance, complete with murderous drug and needles!

Was really good, getting a slight protein rise now, so dribbling in NovoSluggish half a unit at a time. Coincided nicely with my sensor expiring and waiting for the new one to warm up. But....

With MiaoMiao and the Spike app, it reads the sensor for an extra hour so I’m not running blind. Who knew? Just goes to show that these sensors could probably run for a heck of a lot longer than they’re allowed to...

I'm disappointed no-ones said quack

But no, it seems to have had an affect so I'll have an experiment over the next few weeks whilst looking for consistency. it's the powdered oats I'm looking at as I believe their carbs are simpler than the larger oats, and as there's a fair bit of powder in a jar of porridge, I maybe need smaller holes in my colander though.... (shuffles off like a duck, quacking happily as he goes )

Are you using the jumbo oats for this colander based experiment @kev-w or just normal rolled oats? I found the jumbo ones had the best size consistency without filtering them for me.
