Type 2 and diverticular disease

@ChristineMarshall - Hello :). My Mother had Diverticulitis and Type 2 Diabetes (and Alzheimer's too) and I believe there is a thread already set up on this Forum for Diverticulitis. Sorry, I cannot give you directions how to get there. Maybe try looking in the many headings - Good Luck.:)
 
@ChristineMarshall I was diagnosed with diverticulitis in 2009 after an abscess formed and burst in my colon. You need to differentiate between Diverticulosis which is the presence of diverticula (pouches) and Diverticultis which is an infection in one of these which may need antibiotics or surgery. Lots of fibre and no small seeds is recommended. Take care.:)
 
Pretty much everybody has got diverticulosis which is where the bowel has been damaged through years of use and has pockets of stretched tissue. Diverticulitis is when an infection occurs and doesn't happen to everyone by any means
