Hello there! It's my first time here in this forum and I just wanna quickly share my personal experience. I was diagnosed with hyperglycemia 5 years ago which is associated with type 2 diabetes and I was told by my doctor to take Metformin every after meal. I never really had side effects and I was so grateful that my blood glucose went to normal but then taking it 3x a day made me really skinny after all and so from 500mg, I started to take 250mg 3x a day. After 2 years, I started reducing taking metformin to 1x a day and from there to NO metformin at all. I haven't been taking metformin for the last 2 years and I just really do a proper diet and exercise. Every time I do my blood test, everything is normal. So I think, you can reduce the risk of diabetes just by taking the right amount of food, less cholesterol, low carbs and daily exercise. But still, everything depends on the person, on the level of diabetes you are in and you got to ask your GP I think. Hope this helps JOHN
