Type 2 and on insulin? Why not join a study?

Type 2 Diabetes Clinical Research Study

Medinova Research are looking for volunteers to take part in a research study to evaluate a new mealtime insulin to see if it can further improve blood sugar control in people with Type 2 diabetes.

Qualified participants will receive all study related care, including ophthalmology checks and study medications at no cost.
Reimbursement for travel costs also offered. The study involves 12 visits to the North London research clinic and 25 phone contacts.

To join the trial, you must:

• Be aged 18 years or older
• Have Type 2 diabetes
• Be on insulin for at least 6 months, basal or long acting insulins; Levemir (Insulin detemir), Lantus (Insulin glargine), Humulin I, Insulatard and Insuman Basal
• Currently be taking metformin at least 1000mg / day
• Be based in or around London and be willing to travel to North London Clinical Studies Centre at Mount Vernon Hospital, HA6 2RN

You will not be eligible for the trial if:

• You have had a heart attack, heart surgery or stroke in the last 6 months
• You are on any of the following medications: Forxiga (Dapagliflozin), Actos (Pioglitazone), Bydureon; Byetta (Exenatide), Victoza (Liraglutide)
• You are on any of the following short acting insulins: Apidra, Humalog, NovoRapid, Actrapid, Humulin, Humulin S, Humulin M3, Insuman Rapid, Insuman Comb, Novomix 30, Humalog Mix 25
