Type 2 Diabetes and liver problems

Hi does anybody on here have Liver problems as in, NASH, CIRRHOSIS, I had liver biopsy and that was my result.i have type 2 diabetes also ulcerative colitis, and psoriasis and was just wondering what other peoples experiences are and what other problems can arise
just thought i would add i do not drink or take drugs and never have.

Hi Mickey,

With regard to liver it depends on your enzyme results from your latest liver function test, in my case I am unable to take medication which resides in the liver such as metformin, the reason being that if the liver does not release the full dosage within the specified time range then the residual metformin can turn to an infection.

The only advice I can offer is to ask for a liver function test before any new medicine is taken, I have a damaged liver which was exasperated by being prescribed quinnine for cramps without my GP doing a liver function test.
