You may have heard that Diabetes UK is creating a steering group to determine their priorities in research into Type 2 Diabetes. They are asking for input from people with Type 2 as to what those priorities might be. It seems that no-one from Diabetes.co.uk has been invited to join the steering group. I think this is a huge mistake and a missed opportunity to get the views of a large cross section of people who suffer from the condition, as well as those who live with people with the condition.
It is also an opportunity missed to gain first hand input from people who have seen significant improvements to their blood glucose levels and their weight management by changing to a low carb lifestyle.
I believe that if enough of us provide input to their survey we can get the message across that putting money into researching the long term benefits of Low Carbohydrates there may be some traction in finding a cure.
I would urge everyone to take a look at the Diabetes UK website, They are asking for input - Let's give it!!!!

Type 2 diabetes Priority Setting Partnership
Tell us what you think and change lives
Diabetes UK is looking for the Top 10 research priorities of people with Type 2 diabetes, carers and healthcare professionals. We want to give you a louder voice in research. Whether you’re a research expert or not, you can take part.
We want ideas and thoughts from people with lots of different experiences and backgrounds. We want to hear about your experiences of Type 2 diabetes: write about something that's important to you, that you don’t know the answer to.
We need you
We can’t do this alone. We need you to tell us what questions about Type 2 diabetes you most want answered by research.
What’s important to you when it comes to Type 2 diabetes research?
If you would like to have your voice heard, read our frequently asked questions and then fill in the survey.
