Hi, I’ve been a type 2 diabetic for the past 3 years and I’m currently just over 13 weeks pregnant. I usually manage it okay with only being on metformin twice a day, have more lows then highs and my hypos are usually at night. My consultant said I may need to be put on insulin during my pregnancy, how do people manage with their shots? Also I’m now testing 6 times a day which is really difficult so any tips on that would be helpful!

Could you afford a freestyle libre? (I would have killed to have that during pregnancy, but that was over 2 decades ago.)

My consultants have given me a new blood glucose monitoring kit which she’s happy for me to use for now as I’m only on tablets,I’ve looked into buying something different myself, but I might just wait until/if I need insulin and they’ll probably give me something more advanced to track everything
