Hi Guys,

I'm off to France for the 1st time since being Diagnosed T2. I'm currently on Metformin, Sitagliptin and Forxiga. Are there any testing rules I need to know about in France (and Belgium) as the Forxiga can cause Hypos (although I've never had one).

Thanks

Don't know the definite regs for these meds in France but i would stick to the perennial Test before driving & at least every 2 hours:)

The laws about driving are the same as in the UK and really only apply to Insulin use. For people on insulin, the French equivalent to DUK suggests a level of 1g/l to drive. (ie 5.5mmol/l)

They actually can't expect people to test since the law only allows a maximum of 200 strips a year to be prescribed .(and paid for) for any T2 who is neither on insulin nor being considered for insulin.
They say that for people on Sulfs or similar drugs that it is sufficient to test 2x per week to 2x a day.The latter figure being appropriate when someone has changed drugs or dose.
