Hi, since being diagnosed just over 2 years ago as Type Two,my BG levels have been controlled well at about 5 - 6.8 fasting, measured daily. Over the last 2 -3 weeks, however daily measurements rising to 8 -9. I have not really changed my eating habits although I have gained some weight over the last few months. Current medication Metformin X 3 Daily 500mgs. Any suggestions why my levels should be rising after 2 years of good control?

It happens, T2 is progressive and it may be time to see your doc. and have a medication review.

I managed for some 8 years before my levels started to climb, others might manage longer or shorter, it all depends on the way your body is working.

Extra weight will push your Bgs up, as will lack of excercise.
