Type 2 looking for a diet plan to lose weight

i understood thatk the mechanism behind the reversal is the rapid reduction in body fat to a healthy level from an unhealthy level, if you have already reached that level not sure how that would work. Be interested to hear how that goes.

I'm not entirely sure, I thought it removed any remaining internal fat from around organs, regardless of starting bmi. But for 8 weeks, it won't kill me, and my doctor will be on board.
 
You need to have some internal fat, it is actually necessary for health. Body builders go down to 5% body fat for competition purposes but the rest of the time they increase it for health reasons, its even more critical for women.
 
I would guess after the 8 weeks, it goes back on at a "normal" level. Maybe it's like a re- boot for the body? I've found no great research, evidence, or anything really on it to be honest, but it's only for 8 weeks.
 
nope sorry mate, youve lost me here, sounds like a bad plan lol you are happy with your weight but your going to drink milkshakes for 2 months and lose weight you dont need to lose to cure an incurable condition? unless im missing something, so you can enjoy eating again to regain the weight?
 

I'm going for the Newcastle diet for the alleged reversal of diabetes, not the weight loss. Seems worth 8 weeks to try it out.
As to milkshakes, I've also read the theory that it's the low calorie, low carb aspect that works, so maybe salad and veg?
 
Good luck douglas, if you are happy to try it, and monitor carefully ensuring your getting sufficient calories to function day to day, no other health problems, good control no harm to give it a go thats your decision. Let us all know how you go.
