Am type 2 diabetic controlled by diet. At the beginning I lost 2 stones in weight but over the last few months I have put some of this back on although my diet has not changed. All tests done and are o.k. Nurse says diet is good. Doctor not at all concerned but I do not know what to do.

I'm in the same boat, I'd lost 2 1/2 stones using the newcastle diet and maintaned the loss by reducing my carbs , but my DN added Gliclazide to my meds 3 months ago. I've now gained a stone back, due for my next review shortly and will ask if there is an alternative med I can take
