Type 2

Just a intolerance of them but have ibs, arthritis in cervical and lumbar spine and fibro and nueropathy so no exercise and aged 51 and have many medication allergies.
Was diagnosed 6mths ago which was a major shock

cornflakes (and corn among all the vegetables like potatoes is a bad choice) is one of the worst foods for type 2 diabetics, so is chips/and crisps, and fruits ......try half an orange instead of a whole a day, and otherwise divide it into two half and eat it several hours apart..
you could change to berries instead...
try to not eat more than 20 grams of carb at one meal or even less
same about bread: all types though the white toast bread is the worste, but LIDL has some protein rolls that have very little carbs in them and can be eaten on a regular basis, how about greek fullfat yoghurt ? .... and cottage cheese ?

Don't eat bread, potatoes or pasta cheese or yogs and only milk I have is in porridge. I will eventually get there.

I too have very limited food due to stomach issues. Are you intolerant or do you have gastroparesis that makes you vomit? Just wondering as GP Persons can also have weight gain despite being tube fed!

Anyhow, I would imagine possibly that tomatoes and onions may also be bad, as they certainly are for me.

I am now a healthy size 8, not a skinny 8. I eat a teaplate of avocado-50g, 100g skinned cucumber and corned beef (now able to tolerate). Can't have soups due to onion always being in them.

I have smoothies, really yum ones. Eg the last 3 days I have had a smoothie from coconut milk, yogurt, avocado, orange, 2 small bananas, heaps of blueberries. This when divided in to 6 glasses is 27g of carb and is delicious.
I have coconut milk to wnsure I get adequate nutrients each day. I have this for brunch.

I've found I can eat overcooked broccoli, corned beef, 2 small potatoes, 1 cauliflower head grated, 1/2 butternut squash roasted, turmeric, meditereanean herbs in a huge pan fried... this is 6 meals and keeps ok in fridge. As do the smoothies for 3 days. This normally works out about 16 carbs.
Oh and that includes a 100g of courgette fried separately.

I can tolerate a cider and cream sauce which is lovely with it too.

I do have posched eggs or soft boiled eggs with courgette.

I love spiralised courgette fried by itself or with the sauce.

Unfortunately with any eating issues, it is a suck it and see for the individual... not many peoplehave limitations on their foods and it is a case really of trying to adapt things and certainly trying things that you may never have tried before etc....

Hi @Ange1a65 We have a nut-intolerant vegan member here called @Welshman1952 His food sounds amazing and his type 2 results are terrific. You could put his name into the search facility at the top of the page if you are looking for inspiration.
