Hello, and welcome, @oceans above 13 . Community you wouldn’t really choose to join.. but so many of us started same way, and found a friendly and knowledgeable group of folks who are willing to share advice and support, from the knowledge gained through their own experience.Hi all , became type 2 last year at the end of november so this is all new to me and strange lol , i take TOUJEO 24 mll once a day and novorapid 4 mll with every time i have a meal and my AC1 from my first scan on librelink was 7.2 now it is 6.1 .
age 61 male .
Hi Ellie , yes my level was hbac1 7.2 at the start of december last year so at the end of feb yes it went down to 6.0 , did call my nurse about what had happened and she said i have to stop using the novorapid with every meay so i did as off friday last week just to use the all day one which is toujeo which is working for me she did say that she can see all my levels have come down so much - happy days .Hi @oceans above 13 do you know what your hba1c was when you were diagnosed? (Your levels sound excellent to me now.)
I'm guessing it must have been fairly high for you to be on insulin from the start....(But I'm T1 so could be totally wrong.)
Have you told your DN/diabetes clinic about your low levels? It may be that your doses need adjustment. (Though as a T1 I am used to low blood sugar/hypos I also know how to adjust my doses.)
7.2% is 55mmol/mol and an average bg of 8.9mmol/L . To be honest I am slightly surprised that they put you on insulin rather than one of the large number of T2 drugs that are available before insulin, but I don't know your medical history and am sure they had their reasons. (Are you sure you aren't T1 or T3c?). In any case it isn't uncommon for insulin users to need to adjust their doses and your bg levels sound excellent to me, so hopefully the reduction in insulin will reduce the hypos.Hi Ellie , yes my level was hbac1 7.2 at the start of december last year so at the end of feb yes it went down to 6.0 , did call my nurse about what had happened and she said i have to stop using the novorapid with every meay so i did as off friday last week just to use the all day one which is toujeo which is working for me she did say that she can see all my levels have come down so much - happy days .
i have got the diabetic nurse on the 16 of march , but the nurse did say they could put me on tablets as i was talking to her on the phone on friday due to my levels gone so fare down , so my hba1c is 6.0 and my mmol/mol is 4.2 , and on my hospital letter is says i am a type 2 .and thank you for the good luck .7.2% is 55mmol/mol and an average bg of 8.9mmol/L . Good luck with it all
My diabetes showed up in the ER a few weeks ago. The glucose was just over 400 and A1C went from 5.2% a few months ago to 8.1%. I am still learning. Hopefully I will be able to take better care of myself. So much to learn, still . . .7.2% is 55mmol/mol and an average bg of 8.9mmol/L .
