6.7 this morning ...been in the 6's and 7's for the last 10 days or so but reasonably stable ( ish ) during the day ...think me fingers are permanently scared form all this testing

Arvo troops

5.3 fasting. So annoying when work gets in the way of a good chat!

Have great weekend everyone.

5.9 before bed 7.2 this am grrrrrr. Had my Hba1c, LFT's and cholesterol checked today so fingers crossed all is good.

6.6 at 7.30 am. Are the only things that can improve FBG medication and the ND?

Hi, @Larissima, I find that sometimes my metabolism slows down, so then I try to do something different to get it going again .
These are some things I do from time to time:
I finish eating at 4pm, and only drink water until next day at breakfast, or,
Exercise in warm water - it is possible to get a real workout without straining any sore joints, or
Before sitting down to a meal, I go somewhere private and do 20 or 30 squats - doesn't take long and it makes a difference to the way the glucose acts in the bloodstream. Sometimes I do some after the meal as well.warming up the muscles helps more Glut-4 transporters move to the muscle surfaces.

Every month I try to do some intermittent fasting. This is because I am influenced by Dr. Jason Fung's reasoning that fasting is better for the body than calorie restriction,
I did do ND, My FBG only began to come down after 3-4 weeks. Never been on diabetes medication.

You will find what works for you. Everyone is different. Good Luck.
M.

Oops think I was heading for a low bs. Banging headche, slightly shaky and just feeling out of sorts, bs was 5 6 on meter but was a mmol out when had fasting bs so bs could be lower. Check bp that was fine so had some cherries, headache going now.

Thanks for that, @Hiitsme! I can certainly increase my exercise levels, as at present I am only walking and doing occasional dumbbell sets. I am on a very LC diet and am losing fat steadily, but that's not yet enough to reduce my FBG.

Thanks for this, @Baruney! I do some walking daily, and could probably increase it somewhat.

Thanks, @AndBreathe. I test as soon as I wake, and on the 2 days per week when it has to be early, my FBG is lower than the rest of the week (but still not in the normal range). I have trimmed my carbs right down - I still have a long way to go with trimming myself, though!

Thanks, @hankjam! I don't eat any starchy foods at the moment, just veggies and any carbs in meat/eggs, etc. My post-prandial BG is great, but the low carb eating is not enough to reduce my fasting BG. Interesting about the plank, at the moment I cannot hold it more than 20-30 seconds, but I'm not doing it every day; something to work on.

Thanks, @Merrylizard1314! I do occasional (minimal) IF (miss a meal, either dinner or breakfast) and want to increase the duration in the future. Exercising before (and after) a meal is definitely something I could do, and I remember reading about it in the 4 Hour Body. Thanks for reminding me and pointing out how it influences the glucose transporters.
