6.7 for me. I was up and about before test and also painful night so I'm not too concerned. Yesterday was stressful too with ex husband shenanigans!
Diagnosed prediabetic Easter 2014. Just left to get on with it, no guidance or help from GP. Every day I'm learning something new.
5.7 this morning. Went to bed on 6.6.
Oh and happy bunny, lost another 2lb. BMI now 25.4.
3.8 this morning.
There are some happy posters this morning, with improved scores. I wonder if being a (relaxed ?) Sunday has any impact for those in that happy camp?
Well done!
I'm still losing weight but my BMI is 31. I'm almost overweight though!

I wish someone would post higher than me, i feel like a freak...lol
Or the less happy ones aren't posting ... Well done to everyone though!
There will be plenty of people out there higher than you flashy. Obviously, not everyone posts, or finds this style of thread motivational.I wish someone would post higher than me, i feel like a freak...lol
That sounds ominous Rod. Was it really bad this morning?
18.9 on friday, not on any meds, not sure how often to check, from what i see on here it should be morning and night, just had lunch at one and got 16.1 ?
Now ya got me worried, I was diagnosed a week ago and told to try a diet for 6 weeks then go back for for another hbac1, my first hbac1 was 66.
I eat fruit n veg and lean meat now and again, cut booze to the minimum, I do take meds for high bp.
Off back to proper doctors next week to get more tablets so i will discuss it with them.
Thanks for your advice
Re: Type 2's : What was your fasting blood glucose in a morn
Not dangerous as such, but of course doesn't help your averages much, and hence your HbA1c.
Mine was 6.6 this morning. It's normally a little lower, but I went to bed with a higher than normal reading after a big pasta type meal. Do you check your bed-time readings? I found that I need to eat nothing from at least 2 hrs before bed to get a lower bedtime reading, which gives me a better morning reading.
Also think about WHEN you test. I discovered this recently aftyer reading posts from others. If I test as soon as I roll out of bed, it's about 0.5 to 0.7 LOWER than if I test just 20 mins later after shave, shower etc, even though I've still not eaten. It's because the body is saying, "right, you're up at last, better give you some sugar to start fuelling your day." The roll-out-of-bed reading is a better indicator for me of what I've been all night and hence effect on averages - I'm on diet-only

5.2 for me today.
It is very unpredictable though isn't it? I did 40 minutes on the treadmill an hour before I went to bed, and hoped it would be in the 4s again!
i noticed when exercising it can be hard for me to lose weight i never had a problem losing weigh any other time in my life, though all activities i have been doing during eating healthy the weight is still going up even though i followed the advice from even doctors, and i now think i know why it is going up and it is not the thyroid.however exercise is important and good and i think you should keep up with what is working for you and I do understand what you mean, some times you can do the exercise or the healthy eating it can some times still affect the sugers, just depends on the person i suppose, i hope you get your target and work on keeping it on the number when you achieve it,hugs x
Thank you Spirits! I have been working hard since January 26th to lose weight and am now at 4.5 stones down. But it is SO hard to keep being good. I quite enjoy the treadmill now though and feel bad when I can't do it. Good luck to you too. Keep going - it will be worth it.
