Type 2's: What was your fasting blood glucose in a morning?

Is the new pot a second new pot, or do you mean the readings were from a new pot? (Sorry for the pedantry.) Do you have any strips from a different batch (number on the box)? Or, do you have another meter you have a few strips for? I must admit, I have a non-Codefree meter I keep for these sort of instances. I know the readings would be highly unlikely to absolutely match, but it's maybe a sense check potential.

You could be right no fever or even an elevated temp? Tested urine and no nitrates. ( I'm well stocked lol). Thankyou though

Checked on 2 meters and 3 brand new pots of strips.....

Without understanding what's happening, I would (personally) be wary of taking insulin. It feels like, if you feel OK, and have enough strips to keep testing, a few hours, or even a day in the teens isn't going to be toooooo harmful.

I'd ask you to really carefully monitor if you have taken 10u.

Should have known better than to try and diagnose a nurse from half way round the planet. What was I thinking!

Thankyou. I'll monitor really carefully all day. Probably be hypo later. Meh. Just wish I knew what it was? I'm only taking the one dose. If it rises later I'll get myself off to get checked out...

Opened 3 pots so its pretty accurate. Its so strange?

More scary than strange. Hope you're OK - the insulin will sort it out. What on earth could cause that dramatic rise? Be careful monitoring now you've taken the insulin - wouldn't want you to dramatically drop into hypo territory.

Take care.

A nice flat-lining 4.0 for me today.

For the first time today, I didn't particularly enjoy my breakfast yoghurt this morning. It was OK; just not up to the usual standard. This batch had gone a bit grainy, so I'm planning a whole new start when I make some more later. I'll use a new starter, in an effort to get back to me smooth deliciousness.

Hey ho.

Thankyou. Dr says it national bank holiday for my beta cells. Apparently it can happen sometimes..my food intake over past few days has been great too. No more that 45g of carbs a day....

A very nice 4.8 at bedtime (tested twice to confirm)
5.3 at 2am
5.6 this morning. Better than my previous 6.2 but I started low and it was a massive overnight rise for me. Probably my liver objecting to the 4.8.

Well that was my fasting. 2 hours later was 15 ....its starting to come down after I took some novorapid insulin I had left over from when I was on it before...if it rises again once this has stopped working I shall present myself to my Gp
