How... oddly gratifying, she writes (with manufactured humility).

Nice to know that someone else recognised our uber-coolness, doncha think? ;)

8.1 Eeek!

I ran out of Metformin on Monday. Yesterday I went to the chemist to collect it. Here's the conversation I had:

Me: Hello. I've come to collect the prescription I put in last week.
Assistant: I only ordered it for you today..It won't be in until early next week
Me: Not till today? But I brought the prescription in a week ago
Assistant: Yes, I know but someone put it in the wrong pile
Me. But I ran out on Monday
Assistant: It'll be in on Monday or Tuesday next week.
Me. May I speak to the pharmacist? (He's about 14 and gets very stressed, probably because of things getting put in the wrong piles)
Pharmacist: When did you last take your Metformin?
Me: Monday. Could you let me have an emergency supply perhaps?
Pharmacist. How many do you take a day?
Me: 4
Pharmacist: Here's 12. Your prescription will be in early next week...:banghead:
Mmm, so they don't have YOUR prescription BUT they do have a stock that they can take some out of to give you......

I'm in exalted company then @pavlosn and @Brunnaria are legends too! :)
so many legends in one forum!
Just as long as we remain living legends!
I suppose it's an improvement on my previous description of "Regular", which always made me think of bowel movements.

Pavlos

P.S. @alliebee nice to see you are on top of things and your levels are coming down.

Oooh I've become a legend?? Where did that come from lol. On my profile. Is that a polite way of saying I post too much :)
I was wondering what those "names" meant especially I noticed on one or two "Senior" but knew it wasn't age cos they're younger than me

Figures
Before tea last night 5.00 (to many carbs 95! woah, but that baked spud was goooood)
2 hours Post 7.3
plus an hour 5.8 (pre bed)
This morning 5.5
2 slices of toast (45g carbs) and 2 hrs later 6.8

Bread needed using up - had forgotten about it and its going dry - that's my excuse anyhow  (though true)

@alliebee I think it has changed on the forum for everyone, I am coming as senior, I am only 32 :D as pavlos said as long as i am a living senior it does not matter.

Pre-lunch 5.4
3 cheesy scrambled eggs and two ryvitas with butter - total carbs approx 17 (there's still bread left and toast was tempting ;)

Slightly higher, old meter would probably have been ~5.1
(6 tests )
5.0-5.8 avg 5.65 new meter,
4.8 - 5.9 avg 5.55 old meter
Well within the accuracy percentage I've seen posted then but as someone else said @pavlosn I think, its the figures before our eyes we react to isn't it. What's the test you refer to in your signature? I'm pre-diabetic but still interested - always good to know what you know about your condition (or potential condition)
