It'll be easy. You'll tell them you're all fine and healthy. They'll tell you to eat, or not eat, drink or not drink before the procedure, then remind you when your appointment is.
Good luck with it. When is the main event, and are you going to ask if they can see anything in terms of visceral fat around your liver and any other organs? I'd be planning a bit of a charm offensive to try to get lots of lovely peripheral information. The sonographer, or whatever he/she is will be thrilled to have an engaged patient, I hope.
5.8 this morning (average of 5.4, 5.7, 6.5). I seldom get daytime readings in the 4s, they just seem to flatline in the 5s and low 6s after eating. I'm not drinking enough water though.
Still really shaky this morning so going to have a nice eggy breakfast. Didn't test as I was so scared - nit had one as bad for ages so all I can blame is the diet coke and I'd a,so had a pot of normal, tea while waiting for friends. You live and learn. Going to just potter today and hopefully calm down a bit. Thanks x
Have a nice relaxing day. An eggy breakfast is lovely. Hope you feel better soon. x
Do you not have your own glucose monitor?
Nope - as I said on another forum although I met the DN for the first time yesterday I was in and out in 5 minutes. There was no discussion of self-monitoring, just a bit about diet and losing weight. She also tested my blood pressure. I wasn't even weighed (although I was weighed last week by the doc). I see the DN in a month and my next blood test is scheduled for April next year. I will get regular (six monthly) retinal screening though as this is what prompted things in the first place.
Can you nibble nuts on the way to work ??Thanks Jan... I've tried to eat when I get up, but I really cant stomach food at 6:30am...I tried having a snack before I left for work, but this didn't help either, I've also tried eating my breakfast on the way to work - but then my head thinks its not had any breakfast lol I cant win at the moment
Hang in there and watch those carbs..21.8 on waking up. Slice of brown toast, cup of tea, meds & back to bed as feel awful! Retested 2 hours later, 17.7!! Hoping for a lower reading later. Dam thing!!!

lol I might try it...Can you nibble nuts on the way to work ??
Sounds fairly typical. Are you intending to buy your own meter? I would strongly advise you to.
I mentioned what I ate during the day one day on the forum and members advised me to throw the bread out, I did. Levels are almost the same but I am happy I am not eating unwanted carbs atleast. My carbs in a day are about 30 grams a day but my problem is I am gaining weight a bit and I just cant cut anything off my diet else I will faint and collapse one dayHonestly for the moment I would ditch the bread. What are you testing with? I don't get two decimal points on my meter.Fasting this morning 4.38. 2hours post meal 4.72. Trying to keep my carbs in check.
Same here. All meters I've used (around 8 different ) only go one point. With the error to consider even that seems irrelevant. What are you testing with? I don't get two decimal points on my meter.
