7.2 this morning. Had more carbs than usual yesterday. Poss 80g. So need to go hardcore today to let that insulin resistance dissipate...

6.8 mmol/l. Fab sleep and breakfast awaits. Happy New Year to all !

Happy New Year everyone. How I've missed you!

10 days away from home and little or no wifi, quite a few cheeky mince pies and slivers of Christmas cake, and a 9 hour journey home yesterday which included a ferry crossing and 300+ mile drive home. driving an unfamiliar car

Managed to keep my fasting bs fairly low while away, including a bedtime reading of 5.8 on Christmas Eve after mulled wine and mince pie, so not too happy to have a fasting of 8.0 this morning but very happy to step on the scales for the first time in 10 days and see a 4lb loss Perhaps there is something to the theory of upping the carbs a little to kick start things...

Hope you've all had a wonderful Christmas and New Year.

Ahh....Thank you Anne! I shall spend some time later reading those. I'm very aware it's not my doing, knowing she has always seen my positivity and optimistic nature. The most obvious cause has been the school environment and certain not so nice individuals that's I have been in to school about every time! Just hoping things get moving on Wednesday now x

Well....A 6 for me, not my favoured 5 ' s but I expected after later meal last night with protein that I'd normally eat earlier and two 6gm carbs each truffles as a end of year indulgence ! Considering I never went beyond a daytime 8 all over Christmas and boxing day I think I did ok!!
So, now looking ahead to the continuing journey....ten days until I drop the meds!!

Hope it all works out Kim My very best for 2015

Mike
Me too mike, I am most certainly not one to let things go and can be most tenacious in doing so!!
My very best to you too for this new year- let's carry on rocking this thing!!

5.6 for me this morning and just ONE slice of homemade bread in toaster today. My only 8, nearly 9 of Xmas caused by two slices. Put 2lbs on but chocs all gone now. Eating them in 3s didn't spike me but won't be buying any all the same

6.0 for me this morning. Yesterday afternoon I had two small slices of spelt bread which spiked me to 8.0 after 2 hours, so that won't be happening again! 5.2 at bedtime after usual New Years Eve drinking so my liver must be getting its own back this morning.

Happy New Year everyone!

We'll get there Mike

5.5 this morning. Excellent night last night, but rather too much red wine; perhaps I will try for a dry January!

I was about to ask about school when I read this. My daughter suffers from anxiety and panic attacks. When she got married it was a quick visit to the registry office and a meal out! We had booked a wedding at a small venue and gave s deposit. Just the initial visit there left her with heavy breathing and high temperature. A week later we cancelled and lost the deposit. She doesn't like being the centre of attention. A group of Girls at primary school were not nice at all. She doesn't like to see them in the street even now and she's almost 28. I remember her running up the road to the local grammar school to take the test. She saw it as her way to escape those girls. She passed the test and escaped those girls but there are always girls like that wherever one goes and she's never lost the scars from her primary days. I wish you and your daughter all the very best.

5.7 this morning. Well I think it's morning, it's so wet and grey out there it's hard to tell.

Happy New Year Kim, well hopefully it will be considering present circumstances. I feel for you and your daughter and hope she gets help and improves.
Best wishes
EDWARD
