helps to talk to put things in to prospectiveshazza222 said:Im sure he will come through this , like i said anything i can do to help do not hesitate to ask , with a lot of patience understanding and love he will get through , once he knows why hes getting different symptoms things become clearer and if hes prescribed the right medication things will be easier for him , it only took 3 weeks to get me back on track eating etc , unfortunately anxiety is a illness its a chemical imbalance in the brain and because its not visible like a broken leg etc people do not understand which is very frustrating . hope things go well today for your partner and you x

Introduce him to this forum, he needs to lose the fear of diabetes, and the more he learns about the condition, and what he can do to control his condition the less anxious he will be. I am almost certain that he is pulling away from you because at this time he feels confused and helpless and frightened. I dare say most of us have felt like this when we were hit with the diabetes diagnosis.
He is lucky in that he has such a supportive partner in you, you both can learn about diabetes together, you will gain insight, confidence and feel empowered, and I really think that your relationship will become stronger as a result of it.
All the best to both of you x x
