Evening all, ive been diabetic now for nearly 9 years. me and my partner have been ttc for nearly 2 years now, have had the all clear from pre pregnancy clinic to start trying a while back, but after a battle with the gp to get tested for pcos (after having a very long list of symptoms) finally got diagnosed. i have been given metormin to help with ovulation (as well as insulin for diabetes.)
Just wondering if there is anyone else out there who is or has been in the same situation of being passed to fertility clinic and if any issues from taking chlomid as this will be the next step as at the moment im still not ovulation.

Any advice would be appreciated, thanks

Hi
I was ttc for 4.5 years before I finally got pregnant but I wasn't diabetic. Pcos can cause issues but I know some people who have still managed to conceive.

It was so hard to go through and taught me a lot about myself. You won't like this but the best thing is to do what you can to switch off from it. I used to have acupuncture and I think that's what got my body ready to get pregnant. Only after I'd given up, did I fall preg.

Has your partner been tested?

It's so awful to see everyone else getting preg at the drop of a hat, while we desperately struggle. I totally know what you're going through.

Best of luck xxx

Diagnosed prediabetic Easter 2014. Just left to get on with it, no guidance or help from GP. Every day I'm learning something new.

I am so glad they spotted this early for you. I was told I may have PCOS but by the time I was in a relationship where I felt I wanted kids I had bad control and never managed to get the all clear to try to have children. I only ever achieved a HBA1C of 8%. And I was given metformin but I found it had a lot of side effects. I do hope you will be luckier than me and get to go through the whole process successfully. Nowadays they are much more on the ball where women and babies are concerned. When I was in my twenties they were still against women having babies as the risks were high. It was less common.
