M
yes you are a very special case Mist..I exercise daily to keep fit but don't need to lose weight because that's exactly where it's supposed to be, however, I am dropping weight like there's no tomorrow with very little effort it has to be said, just a couple hundred press ups and crunches and a run around the lake each morning which is only about a mile.
What gives?
Thanks guys, I don't think the chemotherapy had much of an effect on me in any long term negative way, but I'm almost certain that the radiation treatment did, that stuff is brutal and I started developing a lot of health problems soon after that treatment.
I hear a lot of problems can be associated to the thyroid, either over active or under active. Perhaps this is something I need to get checked.
I don't have a doctor at the moment because they kicked me out because i cancelled two appointments due to being agoraphobic and having a particularly bad time on those days I couldn't attend.
I'm trying to get into a new doctors surgery but as of right now, no luck.
I do inject quite a lot of insulin but the levels just won't come down, maybe I am resistant to it?
I don't know, it's kind of strange. I don't feel unwell or anything, no loss of energy or anything like that.
I'll try my best to get to see a doctor somehow.
Thankfully not! lol, lol, loloh I thought that Mist lived in london
High blood sugars will cause weight loss, but if yours have been high for a while but the weight issue is only recent, then it would be a good idea to visit the doctor for some general tests for things like thyroid problems or coeliac disease.
This sounds obvious, but if you have a fast metabolism and are unknowingly eating a bit less than usual each day, then you can lose weight quite quickly (speaking as someone with a fast metabolism : D )
Another thought, are you still in touch with the cancer/other units? They might be able to refer you an endocrinologist. My diabetolgist referred me to an endocrinologist for the thyroid problem. (Both guys are in the same unit!)
I recently changed my diet a bit to include less carbs after reading on here that it helps. I've dropped 11 pounds in five days which seems extreme to me as I don't really have any excess body fat to begin with.
No, I've been in remission for a long time now so have no contact with the cancer team.
