Hi my son has had a hypo while asleep i got him to eventually drink glucose drink rechecked blood sugars and gave him a yogurt. Do i give him his bedtime levemir?

yes definitely -- the levemir is a slow release insulin intended to keep us fairly flat in blood sugar readings even when we don't eat

Yes...the levemir won't affect him...if you missed that dose he would run very high tomorrow!

Hi there himtoo thankyou so much for replying my boy was diagnosed in april 2015 sometimes i think i understand diabetes then something happens and all goes to pot!! Blood sugars way too high or too low. So stressed and worried all the time. myboy.x

Ohitsnicola thankyou so much for replying just feel so confused just now thanks myboy. X
That's okay :) is he newly diagnosed? I may be wrong but I think levemir kicks in after 2 hours he will be okay :) xx

Yes well was in april but still all very new to me thanks again

I doubt that very much and thanks for the luck will need it x

Also, hypos can result in a release of sugars from the body later on. So not giving the insulin would result in a double high after the hypo.

I've been type 1 for 33 years, was diagnosed at 11.
Even now ideas and treatments change, I've recently gone onto the pump so even terms like basal and bollus stump me on occasion ;-), I'm finding I have to relearn my previous treatments.

You'll find this forum a real help.

All the best.
Misty x

Thankyou do much misty. We are on waiting list for pump not sure when my boy will get it tho. I think it would be a lot better than the injections tho. X
