Silly question....
I had a kidney transplant about 10 years ago and take drugs like prednisilone and tacrolimus which can make people diabetic if they are so predisposed.
I have lots of diabetic like symptoms, peripheral neuropathy, yellowish big toe nails, thirsty and so on.
However I drink lots of water have a very good diet and walk for 1-3 hours per day either with my dog or playing golf.
My morning fasting blood glucose is usually about 6.2-6.6 area but very occasionally a bit lower though it hasn't been higher for years.
My doc won't do an hba1c test as he says my fasting glucose is fine. He once did an ogtt which came back as 'impaired glucose tolerance'
Given all this, is it possible that I am diabetic managed by diet and exercise or am I only officially diabetic if my fasting blood glucose goes to or above 7? (Uk units)
