I have just become diabetic; and I read it is illegal to discriminate against diabetics, but any time I tick the 'diabetic insulin' box, the quotes increase by £150 to £200. I just phoned with a quote of £330 pound and mentioned I had forgotten that little detail about being diabetic; their best offer is now £600!! I did that on comparison sites, and it happens every time. Doesn't help I am a 'new' driver for the 5th time as I have been swapping European cars, so start anew every time I go back to English cars - but the extra £200 is only because of the diabetes - isn't supposed to be 'illegal' (in our dreams). So please can you advise good car insurance companies that don't costs diabetics so much. Cheers, S.
