UK pump user moving abroad

A job opportunity has come up in Singapore. I am a accuchek pump user. Would I be able to get medical insurance out there? Could they continue my current treatment. Or am I able to continue my treatment abroad?

I appreciate these are open ended questions but any advice from someone who has experience of this is greatly appreciated.

I have a friend in Singapore who is seriously ill with MS which she had before moving there and requires a lot of support, but, in her case, is covered by the 'company', it being a very large corporation. Are you clear on what your new employer has to offer? I think that anyone moving to another country has many things to find out before they move, health being just one. Personally, I would try to get the full picture as there are many things to consider. Grandmother and eggs come to mind ... sorry about that .... I have the experiences of 'brits abroad' in mind at this moment (not that I am suggesting you are one of them!).
 
As the previous poster said, you really have to find out it your employer will give you adequate insurance, private insurance for someone with T1 will be impossible/prohibitively expensive. Some of the big companies would be able to obtain cover, that's how it works in the US.

(Even moving to most places in the EU the problem can arise for people who are not working and thus now need to obtain private insurance for a few years; people with chronic (expensive) conditions find they can't get the necessary insurance)
 
I can't comment on insurance provision, but as others mention you should check this out with the prospective employer. I was actually diagnosed in Singapore as Type 1 at age 52 - my GP referred me very quickly to a top endo who ran antibody and C peptide tests as a matter of course upfront. I'm on MDI but believe no problem re pumps, etc - health care standard is very high and cost (if you can't get insurance) is much less than USA/UK private rates.
