Hi all, new to the groups and thanks in advance for the support. My father has been suffering for about 2 yeasts now with ulcers on his feet. One specifically won’t heal. He visits podiatry regularly and yesterday he came home with a huge foam boot to wear. It is so huge and cumbersome I worry about him tripping and also not being able to walk properly as one leg would be considerably longer than the other when it was on! Can anyone recommend a footwear specialist that can perhaps make adaptive shoes to ensure there is no friction on existing ulcers please? Or any other ideas. He has had an angioplasty on one leg - the other was found to be too compacted when they tried. Thanks.

Hello @vbev

Welcome to the forum. Sorry your father has had foot ulcers for 2 years. If your father is happy for you to talk to the podiatrist, that may be a route to consider, as they may have other options than the boot that they can provide, or point you in the right direction.

As for a footwear specialist, what area of the country does your father live in?

Thanks for this. He lives in Northamptonshire. Best V
