Insulin
I have lost 5 stone in weight with another stone to loose. However I am not showing any sign of going into remission and remain the same as before having to use the same medication and dosage. I have seen people who have lost less weight and have gone into remission, therefore I do not understand why this is not happening to me. Diabetes runs in my family.

Not everyone achieves remission with weight loss, I didn’t get anywhere near either and I lost over 11st. Your journey is your journey, don’t compare yourself to others, all you can do is the best you can be. I did manage to drops all meds from a short time on insulin then max dose Gliclizide & Metformin, now I’m only on Metformin 500 twice a day. My last Hba1c was 48 I still very much have to stick to a strict keto diet of no more than 20g carb a day, max 7-8 per meal.

What is your diet like? Do you eat low carb? Do you test your BS? What was your last Hba1c? It may be worth letting us know what a typical days food is foryou, if you can give us as much information as possible we may be able to advise you better,

I note you are on insulin so please be careful cutting carbs drastically, obviously this can cause hypos so if you do reduce your carb intake do it gradually and make sure you test to check that you are not going too low

Keep doing what you are doing, and take more weight off.
There is no guarantee of remission - I am 15 years T2 and have sometimes managed pre-diabetic numbers but never complete remission.
However I have managed to last a long time without heavyweight medication.

How long have you been diagnosed?
T2 on insulin can sometime turn out to be late onset T1 where a honeymoon period makes it look like T2.
