How come my thyroid is getting better. Meds now reduced by 50mcg Levothyroxine to 100mcg. Doctor could not give me a reason why, she said it could be that I have lost weight?? Another blood test at the end of October. I'll need a permanent cannula.

Many people have fluctuating thyroid levels. They can go up and they can go down, hence the regular blood tests to check things out. To much thyroxin can cause heart problems leading to a stroke plus weight loss.

Have you gone grain free? Low carbing in general seems to be good for under active thyroids and particularly to avoid grains.

Be careful with lowering your dose too much though.

I have an underactive thyroid and I have had my meds amended many times. Was on 200mcg at one time then down to 150mcg and back up again. At the moment I take 100mcg.
It is very common for thyroid functions to fluctuate. I have been receiving treatment for an underactive thyroid for 20 odd years.

I didn't have any symptoms when I was diagnosed many years ago, the doctor was very surprised. My meds have stayed the same all these years with all the relevant blood tests. So if I don't have any symptoms I won't be able to tell if anything happens. Perhaps it is LCHF diet that has helped.
