I have been working hard to prevent myself becoming a diabetic, by watching my carbohydrates intake. My latest HA1c is 40 which I am pleased about. However what is HA1c DCCT aligned blood 5.8 ??
Many thanks in advance

HbA1c of 40 is the same as 5.8 just a different measure i.e just like the measurements in Imperial and Metric show a different number the object measured is the same.

P.S
Welcome to the forum, it's a great place.

Thank you, so if I understand correctly a result of 40 means I am on the high end of normal and not pre diabetic?

My advice to you would be to have an honest look at your diet and excercise regimes before you tip over into Pre Diabetes numbers. Best Wishes.
