I think like myself many of us might have some misconception about how the blood sugar readings change with time and duration of fasting . I am sure we all can get benefit if our own experiences and views are shared among ourselves . Through my personal observations while closely monitoring my readings at various times of the day , I concluded that :
1) The blood sugar readings are not dependent on the length of fasting time (it can be more even with more hours of fasting and vice verse)
2) If I skip some meals or remain totally hungry to get a better reading of sugar level , it may not happen . So sugar level at fasting has nothing to do with hunger status
3) Fasting sugar readings in the mornings are usually higher than readings taken at different times of the day (even though the time gap after meal during day times are much less than the time gap between dinner , sleep and fasting sugar test time )
Do you agree with me? May be you have other points to share?
Can a member with medical background explain these issues ?
