Hi all!
i have started to have these diabetic symptoms since a while back, I’ve spoken to my Gp but it seems I do not have diabetes. Very happy with the results as per my Gp.
Though the symptoms are getting worse. Eg. going for a long walk and after a while feeling fainting, started to get very hungry (even I had a meal not long ago) thirsty, lack of energy that makes me feel I can’t make it back, racing heart etc. I’ve tested BG myself, 3.8-4 before a meal and 9.3-9.5 after a meal. Can my doctor be wrong? they don’t know what is wrong with me, apart from beta blockers to slow my heart down, that is all I’ve got.

Those symptoms don't immediately say 'diabetes' to me. Try testing yourself after the long walk to see whether your BS is too low. Your BS readings are in a reasonable range. It looks like there is some other condition going on.

Have you looked at the potential side effects of your beta blockers?

Can my doctor be wrong? .
Yes, doctors can be wrong. They don't normally pay attention until you hit diabetic levels.
You've become proactive early which is great.
Although you're seeing 9s post meal you don't say what time you tested at or what you ate, we'd like to know that.

Sounds like your out ahead of this, great work

Hello and welcome,
The symptoms don't necessarily mean you have diabetes. Did you get tested for your HbA1c? If so what was the result. As @Ronancastled said some drs don't worry if you are in the prediabetes levels. Also the reading after the meal may be a bit high but it does depend on when it was taken and what was in the meal.

It's great that you are concerned and also that you have found this site. I think it is very worthwhile exploring the worsening symptoms with your dr as they would concern me.

Sounds more like an anxiety attack or low blood pressure to me but I ain't no Doctor, Beta blockers do lower blood pressure though. Get back to the Doctor its their job to find the cause not yours. Good luck.

Beta blockers reduce blood pressure which can make you feel faint. You should consult your doctor but meantime you could measure your blood pressure. If you haven't got a meter the Omron M2 basic is very good and not expensive.
