Unexplained raised levels

Hi guys

I've been hovering around 10-12 for about a week now with a few hypos and okay levels in between, but generally too high. Slightly embarrassing question... does anyone know if having thrush raises your levels? I've had it for about a week now as well but I haven't properly sorted it out yet. I know higher levels makes it worse but I don't know if it works the other way around as well?

I just want to make sure it's not caused by something in case I start changing my basals and I end up hypo when I'm better again!

Thanks!

It hasn't happened to me that way, but: It could be that you are fighting off a general infection (which has made your bg rise), and the thrush has leapt in because you are generally a bit run-down and fighting off the infection?
of course as you say if you are running above 10 you are likely to have sugar in your urine, which will make the thrush worse... vicious circle

I think in your position I'd increase insulin at least enough to get the sugar out of your urine. And keep checking...

It's been many years since I've had thrush and if I remember rightly it was due to taking antiobotics that started it all... So hard to tell if it had impacted on my BG whether it was the thrush or the intial infection that I had antiobotics for!

But if you'll not 100% sure, what I would do is set another profile with your current basal settings, then make all the adustments on this profile, if you find that it was the thrush causing your problems then you can just revert back to your original profile..
