And like I said, most things that you would get prescriptions for (antibiotics etc for infections) could easily be attributed to diabetes, diabetes is more than just a diet change! Pre-existing conditions then yes, I agree they shouldn't be covered after a diabetes diagnosis but everything post-diagnosis should be because high blood sugar can cause loads of problems! UTIs, thrush, kidney infections, reduced immunity for other infections/viruses, circulation problems, the list goes on, not to mention depression/anxiety issues! Why not try googling problems related to diabetes and look at how long the list is - it would be almost impossible to say definitely that most things you need a prescription for had absolutely nothing to do with the fact you were diabetic.
