I said previously anything NOT related to diabetes should not be free.
Not everything people get on prescription is related to diabetes? I get lansoprazole on prescription and have done for years that is because I have a hiatus hernia and no my diabetes did not cause it. I've had pain killers for my bad back that's not related..I could go on.
I suggested that if its NOT related then it shouldn't be free but foot care/ chiropody that is a very important part of our health should be.
So swap the prescriptions that is not related to diabetes for a chiropody services ..that is very much needed . I was only suggesting other ways of providing care that we need without a cost implication.

And like I said, most things that you would get prescriptions for (antibiotics etc for infections) could easily be attributed to diabetes, diabetes is more than just a diet change! Pre-existing conditions then yes, I agree they shouldn't be covered after a diabetes diagnosis but everything post-diagnosis should be because high blood sugar can cause loads of problems! UTIs, thrush, kidney infections, reduced immunity for other infections/viruses, circulation problems, the list goes on, not to mention depression/anxiety issues! Why not try googling problems related to diabetes and look at how long the list is - it would be almost impossible to say definitely that most things you need a prescription for had absolutely nothing to do with the fact you were diabetic.

Nah doesn't rain much on the east coast. It is a bit chilly but that just gives me an excuse to go on holiday more often ;)
