Hi,

I'm off to uni in September. Being diagnosed only three months ago I'm just getting settled in to my hospital and all that stuff. My prescriptions are all set up and my chemist knows my needs. So I'm kind of concerned about the possibility of all of that being thrown in the air for me to potentially move all the way to Edinburgh. Has anyone gone through the process of transferring all your care and if so, was it a smooth process and how far in advance should I be starting to inform my new hospital/GP and obviously my current hospital/GP?

Thanks in advance...

Whoops yes don't no why I thought Glasgow nit wit all I can say is my brain was not firing on all cylinders last night , forget what I said except registering with the university disability service they can be of great help.

Thanks for all of the replies. I'll look into their health service some more over the coming months and hopefully the transition shouldn't be too difficult.

I take it that it is Edinburgh Univerity that you are attending. If so the medical centre at Bristo Square http://www.health-service.ed.ac.uk/ is just along the road from the univesity town centre hub. Let us know which faculty you will be in?

I'll have a look at this, thanks!

I'm studying Geography as of September - part of the School of Geosciences which is itself part of the College of Science and Engineering (I think)...

Yep you should be split between the central campus (Handy for the medica centre ) and Kings Buildings ( a $%* ache if you need between there and the central campus. I used to have Chemistry at KB the after lunch, Biology at the central campus!)
