Hi
I have suddenly started waking up every morning early like 5am for no particular reason..
It's driving mad
Has anyone else had this?
Or know why this is happening

Regards

I am at at @ 3.00 night after night d
espite being very tired. I don't think it's anything to do with diabetes. I think the body's clock gets into a routine and its difficult to break. Tiredness is accruing I think and that does not help anything else!

Yes!!! Started 7 weeks ago when I started my Low Carb High Fat diet and continues.

I'm just fully awake, so now I just go with it.

I'm just wandering if this is my real circadian rhythms re-find it's rhythm after years of abuse:)

I tend to wake when it is getting light, so I have been waking at 5am and earlier over the last few weeks. I have been going out for an early morning walk most days. But then I'm usually falling asleep and in bed around 10pm.
I have tried resetting my bodyclock this week by staying up to after midnight, then although I still wake when it gets light I can get back to sleep, or at least doze on and off, until about 7am.
The other thing you can try, if your bedroom gets light at dawn, is getting 'blackout' curtains. I like having the curtains open and making the most of the lighter mornings while we have them.

Spooky. Just a thought. Does this coincide with something like yer hot water boiler or central heating timer coming on perchance... (Exploring all possibilities.!)

Could be the dawn chorus - I get up at 5.15 for work each day and the birds do make a bit of a racket!!!

It happened to me a couple of years ago so I had to rethink it. DN wanted me to go for a walk every day so I started to do that early in the morning. TV was rubbish so I started to go to bed at an earlier time. Now I got to bed at 9, get up at 5 do some exercises, go for a walk and at this time of year it's all done by 8am easily. I then have a cooked breakfast.
