Hey

After my long thread http://www.diabetes.co.uk/diabetes-forum/viewtopic.php?f=15&t=12848 I thougt best to start a new one for a slight update and a question for anyone who can help.

So the Actos 30mg and 2x 80mg Gliclizide still gave me headaches and levels above 11 so went back to the doctors on 10th and he is trying 15mg of actos to try stop the headaches and put me onto 3x30mg of diamicron mr to try level out over the day. its all he could think of untill I see the endo on the 25th. He read into victoza and again doesnt seem keen on it untill he has tried a few other things. Have had my first foot check which was all okay so got a nice low risk leaflet :) Eye check on the 19th so fingers crossed for that aswell.

my question regarding the diamicron got some wierd readings last few days got me concerned. I Taken them and ate all my normal low carbish meals etc but late at night I appear to get random spikes above 15 bringing with it the usual headache and muscle pains sweating etc. Now these tend to come on about 5 hours after dinner. So im eatin checkin blood 2 hours late its fine say from 11 to 12 as expected and then hours later jumps right up. Is it possible the diamicron is slowin the digestion or causing these spikes somehow?

Cheers as always for any comments or suggestions :D

Re: Update and Quick question

Still getting these strange spikes hours after eating and the diamicron doesnt appear to be doing much. no side affects though and my headaches are not nearly as bad yay

Re: Update and Quick question

Sometimes feels like your talking to yourself in here heh

Anyway off to see the endo at 930. Anyone any tips on what to expect or anything to ask before I go would be much appreciated.

:D

Re: Update and Quick question

I give up honestly I do.

My morning sugers are 8-9 after I eat no matter what I eat there above 12 and yet they just done a H1 test and somehow I have managed to get it down to 6.8  So my bloods are nearly always rubbish when I test. I feel rubbish. My wieght is still climbing thanks to tablets and the endo wants to give it another 2-3 months then put me on victoza.

Why not just do it now for god sake. I want to throw all these horrid tablets out the window and refuse to do anything im sick of feeling rubbish and putting on wieght yet still having bloods that are rubbish when I test. They endo believes im deffo type 2.

The dietician I spoke to after said that if my bloods are still all over the place print them out and ask for the appointment to be moved up in a month to see the endo.

I honestly have no clue whats going on or what to do now. .

Re: Update and Quick question

Sorry I have no advice and can't really help you but it sounds like you are having a tough time and just wanted to give you some support - try to keep positive and maybe the idea of printing out your results will help - it gets tough at times but you will get there! - believe in yourself :D

Sorry I couldn't be of more help (((hugs)))

Hi lovinglife.

thanks for the kind words of support much appreciated certainly perked me up. Think I was having an early morning depression session

I just needed to remind myself it could be allot worse and to keep on fighting. I will go back in a month if nothing changes and hopefully will get onto some decent meds.

Thanks again.
