Hi, Thank you all for your kind thoughts and advice. I took James to the hospital, he is confusing everyone! They made him fast for 15 hours to do a prolonged glucose tolerence test in the hospital so they could make sure it was safe to carry on with the tests. They also did loads of other tests to do with MODY and to rule out a tumour in his pancreas. Rather worrying to say the least! He seems to have some high BG's and it seem that he makes his own insulin but it kicks in about 4 hours after eating. So he can go from 20 right down to 3. When i give him a tiny 2 units of insulin its causes a hypo. Its very irregular and difficult to predict but i have to say he feels much better now he is completely off the insulin. So at the moment we are just monitoring bg levels and waiting for results. The doctor (diabetes specialist) has gone away to read up on all the types of MODY to see if she can fathom out whats going on. His c peptide was 596 when the normal range was under 5. His cortisol is 405 but haven't a clue what that means. I beleive they have to work out a ratio of sugar level to insulin level to c peptide???? My brain is malfunctioning due to massive overload of information! Anyway, we are back home and will hopefully get the results in a bout 2 to 3 weeks. Thanks again for the support Debbie
