Hello I need help on carb counting and calculating how much Insulin I need, I used to know the carb calculation prior pump but since the meter did it all for me I've completely forgotten! And I need to refresh my brain please someone help x

What food are you trying to carb count?

I know the amounts etc it's just the calculation of how much Insulin to give

Ah, ok That depends what your ratio is for that meal eg 1 unit to 10g, or 1 unit to 12g, etc. if you know the carb count and you know your ratio you can work it out.

Have a read of some of my msgs about carb ratios and how to go about them ok using bg targets to aim for. Do you know your times tables and can you divide and subtract? Get yr calculator out if you don't lol

Well I'm an 11.4 after my dinner and it may not be pperfect but I'm happy with it bevayse I was expecting to be alot higher! IHs can you tag me in some please

Not sure whether you are still using injections or have gone back to the Combo while you wait for the new 640G but your basal need for insulin will have probably changed because of bodyweight so find out what your's is and read the thread.
I am not pregnant so my ideal before meal bg level is 6mmol (but I allow for a bit of difference so dont always get the 6mmol).
My mid morning target is 8.5mmol and then that allows for Novorapid to not take me into feeling hypo at the 3.5hr mark as it tends to have a kick in its tail towards the end of its action for me even with basal testing. As you are pregnant you can use the targets given you by your dsn and then probably bolus insulin about 30-45mins before eating food so that your mid way bg target is lower and you can probably use less bolus in the carb ratio because you bolused earlier.
