Eating between meals isn't all that frequent - low carb foods are so satisfying that I very rarely eat three times a day, just have two meals and a few nuts or whatever is in the fridge if I feel I need to eat in between, which is not every day.
If going out for the day I eat before I leave and again when I get back, just taking something to drink with me.
This site is fantastic isn't?! There is always some one here to answer questions.
You'll find as you go farther down the road with LCHF that the need for snacking decreases.
If you need something things like nuts and pork scratching travel well.
Pork scratchings are my go to snack.. also macadamia nuts, pecans, walnuts are all higher fat and fairly low carb. Watch out for cashews though they are more carby I think..

I get brazils, or almonds. I think that walnuts are low carb too but they make my tongue feel sore.
Just check on the back of the packet.
Just after some advice on preparing for days out, seaside, cinema. What do people take with them for low carb snacking? I'm fine if I have something with me to eat. It's when I haven't that I'm tempted cos there's noting much out there to cater for a diabetic!
Salad stuff, boiled egg, corned beef, ham, chicken leg/thighs, any cold meat of your choice, knife and fork and a napkin.
...and coleslaw followed by strawberries (any berries) and extra thick double cream.Thank you!
Grab some good quality thinly sliced meats, some strong cheese, olives -- all in the gob, delicious. A glass of red wine doesn't go amiss either -- though perhaps not one for stray sand at the seaside!
Nuts, boiled eggs, salads, all staples!
Most tree nuts are okay. Check the carb content.Hi all,
Thanks so much for your advice so far. Since joining yesterday I've chucked out all the carbs from my cupboards and gone for the LCHF approach. Must say I feel good about having some direction.
