Using more than one meter?

Hi guys

Anyone use more than one meter/use different meters for different times? I've got the Aviva Expert meter (and a CareSens Dual but I only use that for ketone readings). However I'm going away in June and thought I might get something more pocket sized for having out and about as I'll probably be pretty active. My first thought was to get an Accu-chek Aviva Nano because they use the same strips as my Expert but it doesn't seem to be available anywhere - not sure if it's been discontinued. I could get different strips if needed though that isn't my issue.

What I was wondering about is having data on more than one device - I record my bgl in a spreadsheet anyway but it seems quite important to have everything put into my Expert for the bolus advice. SO, does anyone use multiple meters (e.g. a pocket sized one when you're away) and if so how do you deal with having the data spread across them? I guess the easiest thing might be to commit to using a small meter for the entire holiday - provided I'm happy with the readings it gives me - and just switch back to the Expert when I get home?

Thanks!:)

Why not take the two you’ve already got and use the Expert as the main one with the Dual as a spare (spare everything advised when on holiday) and for ketones if thing go pear-shaped? That’s if the Dual, which I don’t know, does bs as well as ketones?

The tolerance on meters is quite large 15%.
If you use more than one meter you risk not comparing apples with apples as one meter may often measure high whilst the other often measures low (but both within tolerance).
Another thing to consider is the test strips. They have a limited lifespan: if you favour one meter over another, the strips for the least favourite may run out.
I have two meters but one is just a backup in case my main meter fails but I usually use my primary one only.
They both use the same strips.
