I've been using the Insulin On Board (IOB) calculator on the Animas Vibe and it's very good. So good in fact that I can use it to calibrate my correction doses. If I set a 2 hr alarm and then do a BG test and get the pump to suggest a correction dose, it usually shows the suggested correction almost exactly equal to - cancelled out by - the remaining IOB.
It's great because I get constant and early feedback that my correction ratio is correct. And if I spot it has changed (consistently) that's a clue to check my other ratios, as they often change at the same time.
I'm trying to figure out if there is a way to use it to check my bolus ratio, but I don't think so. Bolus BG rises are more variable and more complex than correction BG falls.
