Hi All,

I got a dam UTI, which is a pain, doctor has given me the following a course of antibiotics, which are called Co-Amoxiclav 250/125mg tablets BP, Contains Penicillin, course is 3 tabs per day x 7 days.

Now it could be me, but it seems to be messing around with my blood sugars, I cant be sure as I am almost out of test strips, as at midday today I was 7.5mmol, not even eaten, so I ate,
30mins later it was 9.0mmol.
30mins later it was 7.5mmol.
1 hour later is was 7.3mmol.

As normally at midday i am at below 6.0mmol always.

Can these antibiotics mess around with blood sugars.??

Hope to hear from you soon.

Cheers

Hia - I'm sure they can but also the UTI may well be what's causing higher BSs.

Hi!

Might be worth investing in some canesten cream-Co-Amoxiclav can be notorious for causing thrush from experience!
