Val Doonican dies...

Very sad news - so many memories - sat night tv - his wooly jumpers and rocking chair - i remember his funny songs- paddy mcginty's goat, delaney's donkey etc - met him once- lovely man.- He was 88

One of the first records i had was by him - Walk Tall

Remember my parents watching Val, sad news :(
 
That's sad news, my mum liked him very much and I am so pleased he was as nice as he looked.
 
A great performer and so magnanimous, he will be sadly missed by so many. I have a rocking chair and it is all because of him. Thanks for the memories Val, RIP.
 
I saw him in a show on holiday when I was about 12. Unfortunately we had front row seats. :rolleyes: I was sitting next to a little boy and Val winked at me and said "I see you brought your boyfriend with you" I was so embarrassed I just wanted to run and hide.
