Hi,
When following low-carb, is it okay to add a few drops of vanilla extract (the type used for baking, etc) to plain Greek yogurt to liven it up a wee bit?
Or is this full of sugar?
Thanks!

I shouldn't think there'd be any problem, but if you test without it and with it, you would certainly know.

I haven't ever used vanilla extract, as I don't really favour vanilla, as a flavour, but I have put literally a drop of orange oil in my yoghurt once in a while, that that does nothing to me.

You should be ok, vanilla extract is natural vanilla, in a liquid base, so shouldn't have a sugar content. Vanilla essence is a manufactured chemical, but again, shouldn't have sugar as such in it.

There is 0.5g of sugar in a teaspoon of vanilla essence so it's a tiny tiny amount in a few drops. Shouldn't be a problem

I make my own vanilla extract from vanilla pods soaked in vodka - no sugar, just a few drops of alcohol (or a teaspoon) :)
