You need to change your basal sooner than hour beforehand that should help no end then tweak as needed. Look at increasing at 5AM onwards would be my suggestion.Then at 6am I change the rate to 3.0 which is still not high enough as I just climb and climb between 7am and 10am. I usually start at 7am in the 7's (even after being in the 5's at 6am) by 8am I am in the 10's and even with a correction I can still be in the 10's at 9am and 10am.
When I get up I have a shower and then have breakfast - eggs - so no carbs. It rises until about 10am and then starts coming back down if I don't lower my basal at 10am I am hypo by lunchtime.
